Well, I saw it… And it was amazing!!! It was everything I could have hoped for and more. A totally amazing finale to what has been more than a series of movies. It has been the backdrop to most of my life. What’s funny is, I can’t remember life without Star Wars. I was born in 1973, so by the time I started understanding my surroundings at age 4, Star Wars was already changing popular culture. In fact, when I was in pre-school and was just learning how to speak English (Because my parents only spoke Spanish in the house), the first memory I have in English is about Star Wars. I was playing with one of the kids in class and he said, “Let’s play Star Wars! I’ll be Darth Vader and you can be a Stormtrooper!” I didn’t who Darth Vader or a Stormtrooper was, so I said OK. But that’s all over. My childhood has officially ended. But it ended with a bang!!! So now that I’m an adult, I’m going to now find out what my interest rate is on my house and then learn what an IRA is and what a 401 (k) is supposed to do…

I have to say that star wars does bring back a lot of fond memories from my life. I to played the star wars game, but I was Luke sky walker of course. In fact, I even had a glowing green sword which was the “force”. This sword even made the swooshing noise that you would hear whenever Luke and Darth Vader would get into a battle. By the way, I was born in “75″ so I can really relate to the star wars phenomenon. Peace, and may the force be with you.
My life, my war…
The movie was amazing! It’s hard to be unbiased since Star Wars also defined so much of my life being born in ’73. In fact, Star Wars is the very reason that my favorite genre of movies is sci-fi. I love the idea that anything is out there and anything can happen. It has a sense of fear but also endless opportunity. It parallels life. And Star Wars does even more so. Think about the last fight at the end of the movie. Annakin is giving up everything and everyone he loves, even fighting over the inferno waiting to consume him. He was lied to and beleived it. As a result, he made 2-3 bad decisions that ruined his life forever. Sound familiar? Hell is roaring right below us waiting to devour, but we have hope.
In the end we win but we still have to fight to stay on track. I think that’s why I love Star Wars so much even as an adult. It is a lesson to keep fighting for everything good and true.
